Video Remote (VRI) & Over the Telephone (OPI) Medical Interpreting Services

Stony Brook University Hospital is seeking a company to provide to its patients, video remote interpreting (vri), inclusive of American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken languages, and telephonic interpreting (opi) to keep within compliance with New York Department of Health Code of Rules and Regulations 10NYCCR Section 405.7, Patient Rights for Limited English Proficient patients, Joint Commission standards and Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act.  Interpreter services must be available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year including holidays.  Interpreter services needs to encompass as many languages as possible with at least 90% of interpreter transactions completed at a contact center to ensure high quality, professional, and accurate interpretation.  Only a minimal amount (approx. 10%) of interpretation transactions should occur from home-based interpreters.
