Rotating Drum Replacement Project


Description:

The items of work include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:
Contract No.1 – General Construction: This work shall include providing all
shipping, labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, and other means of
construction necessary and incidental to the completion of the Rotating Drum
Replacement. The project includes the work shown on the Plans, and described in
the Specifications consisting of general construction. General construction
includes, but is not limited to, all work necessary for the removal and replacement
of the existing steel drum Rotating Drum and accessories with new as shown on
the Plans, and as specified, and shall consider use of the following existing
Rotating Drum equipment and parts for operation of the new replacement
Rotating Drum. The cost of any equipment, material, and labor necessary for the
removal and re-installation of the following existing equipment and parts shall be
included in the general construction work:
1. Ring gear
2. Roller bands (tires)
3. Electric drive motor
4. Transmission cooling system
5. Transmission
6. Pinion gear/shaft/pillow blocks
7. Trunnions/trunnion wheels and retainer rollers
8. Steel framed grillage support of equipment items 1 Thru 7
9. Existing Rotating Drum foundations
10. Hydraulic gate control – terminal adaptor/contacts - copper conductor
plates and accessories
Any metals scheduled to be removed and/or damaged during construction may be
handed over to the Owner for disposal. The Owner will direct the Contractor
where on site to stockpile said material.

Contract No. 2 – Electrical Construction: This work shall include providing all
labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, and other means of construction
necessary and incidental to the completion of the Rotating Drum Replacement.
The project includes the work shown on the Plans, and described in the
Specifications consisting of electrical construction. Electrical construction
includes, but is not limited to, all work necessary for temporary removal of
electrical equipment, devices, cable tray, and circuiting in the project area limits
of construction. All removed electrical equipment and devices are to be stored
and placed back in operation at project completion. New circuiting including
conduit, wiring, and junction boxes are required to complete the work. The
equipment and devices to be removed and replaced include lighting, emergency
stops, receptacles, control circuiting, and fire alarm.
