RFP 24/25-3249: Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Technology Specification

Stony Brook University Hospital (SBUH) is requesting proposals from qualified vendors

to provide technology that can:

  1. Harness the power of artificial intelligence (Al) and machine learning (ML) to identify the likelihood of a condition based upon information contained throughout the medical record, and assist with the creation of appropriate and compliant queries.
  2. Provide 100% real-time concurrent coverage of all admissions to compare clinical evidence to narrative documentation.
  3. Reliably remove non-productive chart reviews from CDI work queues
  4. Prompt CDI specialists to review the right chart, based upon prioritization of charts with query opportunities.
  5. Provide an UM solution that helps identify which charts to review to support level of care status determination.
  6. Provide forecasted DRG or predicted DRG with a predicted length of stay estimate for every patient for both discharge planning purposes and the ability for CDI to concurrently review the case and potentially query for revenue & risk adjustment opportunities.
  7. Provide reporting and analytics to quantify and measure impact of documentation, coding and level of care updates.

Bidder’s Mandatory Qualifications:

 

  • Vendors must have implemented solution in at least 10 academic medical centers similar in size and complexity as Stony Brook University Hospital.
  • Vendors must have experience utilizing its solution with the Cerner Millennium Electronic Medical Record.
  • Bidder must submit the following documents with their response: Exhibit L – Procurement Lobbying Law, Exhibit C (Contractor’s EEO Policy Statement & Workforce Employment Utilization Report), Vendor Responsibility Questionnaire State Consultant Services Contractor’s Planned Employment form (“Form A” – see below) and NYS Sales Tax Registration Forms ST-220-TD & ST-220-CA attached to the RFP.
  • Bidder must submit the following company information:
  1.          Full legal name.
  2. Primary business address.
  3. All other office locations (city and state for domestic; city and country

for international)

  1. Hours of operation for the offices that will be responsible for providing

services to SBUH, including current holiday schedule.

  1. Company website address (URL).

All questions must be submitted via e-mail, no later than 10 am, Thursday, August 1st, 2024 to the designated Hospital contacts.
